BUILDING A GREAT BIKE - I MEAN SCHOOL

If you wanted to win the professional bike race that is coming to Menomonie on June 19, how would you prioritize your needs? Bike racing is simple. You need a decent bike and you need a good rider. Which would you work on first? If you spent all your time thinking about how you would get the best rider, and ignored the condition of the bike, things would not go well for you. Lance Armstrong could not win for you on a broken bike.

Middle School Hosts Japanese Students

It's nice when people of good will come together. I did not know what to expect when I was informed that our sister city in Japan would be bringing a group to visit. We have several schools and we serve all ages. For reasons unknown to me, they bring Middle School students. Fine with me. We have a great middle school.

Anything is possible. Everything is not.

The school board tried something new last week. A regular board meeting (not a hearing of any sort) was held at a school site-Wakanda. The board has decided to bring the routine meeting to different school communities in order to get a better feel for the world beyond the board room and to make it easier on residents to attend a meeting.

Menomonie--national model for volunteerism

"Consider a man riding a bicycle. Whoever he is, we can say three things about him. We know he got on the bicycle and started to move. We know that at some point he will stop and get off. Most important of all, we know that if at any point between the beginning and the end of his journey, if he stops moving and does not get off the bicycle, he will fall off it.

No good deed goes unpunished.

Spring elections are over. Both successful and unsuccessful candidates will probably have cause to wonder if all their hard work is worth it. It is.
